The CVTracker is enabled to automatically open Internet Explorer (if installed on your system with appropriate pointers) when you have a URL that you wish to access.  If you don't have IE, you may cut and paste the URL into any browser from the main screen.  Essentially, the CVTracker has no other internet requirements except for email access to register your software appropriately.  Version 2.0 of CVTracker should have an Email client built in with automatic access to your ISP services with appropriate configuration of POP3 and SMTP email data.  You are required to have a copy of the CVTracker on your desktop/laptop.

Windows 98 Version

1.3 Is there a Windows 98 version of the software available?
The Windows 98 version of the CVTracker was released in November 2003.  The software version is CVTracker LITE v.1.9.1 for use on Windows 98® operating systems.  For techies:  This software is compatible with MDAC 2.1 or higher and uses Access Type Libraries for data access.  You can download this software from Downloads.

1.4 Can I use the software on Apple Macintosh computers?
No.  The CVTracker is designed for the PC and Windows operating systems.  There are ways of using it on Macintosh computers using PC Emulators.  You can find out more about various emulators and their costs at some of the following sites:

http://www.macwindows.com/emulator.html#PCEmulators

Printing System

1.5 Does the CVTracker work with all printers?
CVTracker currently works properly with printers configured to meet Windows 2000 or Windows XP standards.  This should include most of the printers available today.  If you have any questions regarding printing, you should first contact your printer manufacturer or printer software vendor before contacting the CVTrack team.  We will try to help you if you are still unable to print out data.

Integration with Outlook

1.6 Does the CVTracker integrate with Microsoft Outlook?
Certain aspects of CVTracker already incorporate Microsoft Outlook features.  This include updating the Microsoft Outlook calendar and importing data from the Microsoft Outlook contacts data set.  Specific feature improvements and greater integration with Microsoft Outlook is expected in the next version of the software.

Do I Need Other Software?

1.7 Do I need to purchase any additional software for use with CVTracker?
No additional software is required for purchase.  CVTracker maintains a redistributable Microsoft Access format database for data storage and retrieval and implements an ODBC connection to access and retrieve data through standard SQL queries.  The CVTracker back end requires only the standard files already included with the operating system and the files contained in the install package of the software.

Backup Requirements

1.8 What system requirements are needed to back up my data regularly?
Backup can be done directly through CVTracker using the Restore menu command.  This data can then be stored on a floppy disk, memory card, zip drive, CD-RW, hard drive, or on your network.  The backup and restore command is not automatically invoked however and requires that you manually back up your files by selecting the Restore command from the menu bar.
