CVTracker™ uses the following external file types: .cvt files - Position and Company template files for the profile editor .cvh files - Proprietary help files (generally in RTF format) .cvg files - Personal goal files that you can define and modify. .cvd files - Dictionary files for job descriptions that are compared against your user profile entries. |
| Upgrade
3.2 I've purchased a copy of CVTracker LITE or GOLD, how do I upgrade my software to a new version or one with more features? |
To upgrade your version of CVTracker LITE, all you have to
do to is download the Upgrade package of CVTracker LITE and re-register
your software with the new registration codes you will receive in the
mail. The Upgrade package and Full version will be available in
late January. You cannot uninstall your earlier version and
reinstall the upgrade or full version. You are required to have
purchased and registered the CVTracker LITE version or an earlier
version of CVTracker Gold before you can
install the upgrade to the latest version. Several key features
in
the latest version include Keysearch capabilities, Profiling, Personal
Profiling, Import/Export, Printing, Goal Setting and Tracking Metrics. You will not lose any data from your database after your upgrade provided you either create a restore XML file or a backup of your database file. |
| Network - Multi-User 3.3 I'm hooked up to a multi-user network, Can I install CVTracker on the network? |
Can I install CVTracker on a multi-user network? Yes
and no. You may install CVTracker on a computer on the network,
but it might not be accessible depending on your IT department or
network adminstrator's computer policies in place. To install
properly requires access to writing files, to the Windows®
registry, registering dynamic link libraries, and to specific locations
in your directories to maintain the database and back-end
information. If you have no problems during the install, you
probably won't have difficulty afterwards, but you may not gain access
to certain features such as automatic clicking to a specified URL or
email client access in later versions. If you have difficulties
in this regard, contact your network admin to see if there are any
special restrictions, then contact CVTracker's technical support by
filing an issue at: CVTracker Customer Tickets
and we'll see if we can develop a workaround to make sure you can
access the CVTracker. |
| Data Retention 3.4 If I install CVTracker now, would I retain my data after an upgrade? |
Only if you don't uninstall the software and reinstall a
full version or another LITE version. To make sure you keep your
data and if you already have a copy of CVTracker LITE or CVTracker
Gold, make sure to download the CVTracker UPGRADE version of the
software. This will properly configure your system and upgrade
your database to the next level and let you use all the new features
while keeping data you've already entered into the system. |
